Hello there guys! So I have this friend who asked me a favor. He asked me if I know how to root Galaxy S. I was a little hesitant because you know I don’t have any Galaxy S to actually try the process to. So, I told him “yes, I do know how but I’m afraid that I will make a mistake and we couldn’t get the phone back to its original state”. I thought he already forgot it, but to my surprise he asked me about it again this afternoon.
So I decided to work on it. I had some researches on how to do it and I will share it to you in case you want to know how to root Galaxy S successfully. Before doing the process make sure that you have a better understanding on what OS and android version your Samsung Galaxy S have. It is necessary so that you know what kind of rooting package you will download to begin the process with. Rooting your phone will devoid the warranty so assure yourself that it is something that you really want to do.
Since my friend has Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 on Android 2.3.5 XXJVS Firmware, we download the Android 2.3.5 XXJVS Rooting Package for Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 and here’s the necessary steps you need to follow:
Step 1: Unzip the Android 2.3.5 XXJVS Rooting Package for Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000. You will get 2 files for this the tar Rooting and the Odin flash Tool. Open the Odin flash tool in your computer and turn Off the phone to enter the phone in the download mode by pressing down on Volume Down Key + OK button. Hold both keys simultaneously while pressing the Power Button.
Step 2: Connect the Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 phone to the computer using a USB cable to connect the Odin file to it. You will know that it is ready to install, when you see the ID, Com block turned yellow. Click the “PDA” tab that you can see in the Odin file and click the “Start” tab on the file that says “CF-Root-XXJVS-v4.3-CWM3RFS".
Step 3: The rooting process will start in an instant as soon as you hit the start button. Your phone will be restarted and go for the application that says “super user”.
Step 4: Once you click on the Start tab, the rooting process will be initiated and the phone will be rooted within less than a minute or two. If you can’t find the skull icon then this means you have to re-do the above instructions.
Step 5: Click the recovery mode when you find some errors along the process. Select wipe data factory reset and click wipe cache partition if you find some errors.
Enjoy your newly rooted Samsung Galaxy S and unravel the infinite limitation that you can experience with the device.
